Mawlana Hasan Rida Khan writes in praise of al-Madinah al-Munawwarah seyr-i gulshan kawn deykhey dasht-i ṭaybah chhoṛ kar, sū-i jannat kawn jāey dar tumhārā chhoṛ kar. who would behold heaven’s splendour - forsaking the desert of ṭaybah? who would tread toward paradise - forsaking thy hallow’d threshold? mar key jītey hayñ jo unkey dar pey jātey hayñ ḥasan, jī key martey heyñ jo ātey heyñ madīnah chhoṛ kar.
