Alahazrat writes about this. Issue 310: From Qadri Ganj, District Birbhum, Province of Bengal. Sent by Syed Zuhur al-Husain Sahib Qadri Razzaqi Kermani. 23rd Jumada al-Ula, 1336 AH. Question: Is the blessed mausoleum of the Leader of the Universe (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)—rather, Madinah Tayyibah—superior to the Throne (`Arsh), the Footstool (Kursi), and the Sacred Ka‘bah, or not? Answer: The pure and blessed soil, meaning that land which is directly in contact with the luminous body (of the Prophet ﷺ), is superior to the Ka‘bah al-Mu‘azzamah, rather even superior to the Throne. This has been explicitly stated by Abu ‘Aqil al-Hanbali, and it has been accepted by the scholars. As for the upper structure of the blessed mausoleum, it is not included in this ruling. The Ka‘bah al-Mu‘azzamah is superior to Madinah Tayyibah. However, there is a difference of opinion regarding which is superior between: * Madinah Tayyibah excluding the place of the pure blessed soil, and * Makkah al-Mu‘azzamah excluding the Noble Ka‘bah. Most scholars incline toward the latter view (i.e., Makkah being superior), while our position is the former view, and this is also the view of Farooq-e-A‘zam, Sayyiduna ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). There is an explicit statement in a hadith narrated by Tabarani: “Al-Madinah is superior to Makkah.” And Allah the Exalted knows best.
Aslamo Alaikum I was reading through Bahar e Shariat and i came across the following, i thought it may be uselful... Jannat is an abode which Almighty Allah has created for the believers. He has placed such splendors in Jannat, that no eye has ever seen this before and no ear has ever heard of it, and nor has the thought of these splendors even passed through the mind of any person. None can ever experience the true realities and bounties of Jannat (in this world). The only one that has been blessed with experiencing all the bounties and all the beauties of Jannat is the holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam). Whatever has been explained about Jannat, is only to give one an idea of the beauties and splendors of Jannat. The most beautiful things on this earth can not be compared in any way to anything in Jannat. There is no doubt, that nothing can be compared to Holy Paradise, but the Holy Kaaba is greater in status than Jannat and as for the Blessed Grave of the Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam), then this is even greater than the Kaaba and more majestic than the Arsh of Allah which is the most Majestic station in the skies. The Arsh is a creation of Allah and the Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) is the greatest of all creation. It is thus very evident that the Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) being the greatest of Allah's creation is without doubt more exalted in position than the Arsh. Faraz Rabbani says there is Ijma' on both (Ka'ba and 'Arsh). http://qa.sunnipath.com/issue_view.asp?HD=7&ID=5901&CATE=24
Wa 'alaikum assalam Bro. Haroon! Yes. If I remember correctly, 'Allama Ghulam Rasul Sa'idi wrote in his book from which I quoted that there is Ijma' on this also. Wallahu a'lam
:s1: Yes it is the ijma' of the Scholars of the 4 schools of Ahl al Sunnah wal jama'ah..the Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi'i, Hanbali Schools, that the blessed, illumined, fragarent, noble, radiant, resting place which touches the body of the Leader of all Creation, HabeebAllah :sas: is more sacred than the Holy Ka'ba al Sharif. Now, Imagine! Imagine the infinite beauty! the infinite solace! This is what an 'Aashiq of the Greatest of all Creation will get at his Maqam, at his noble beautiful feet. Now can one imagine how beautiful Is the Creator Who created this unimaginable Creation? There is nothing but good in all of this. Noting but Purity, Beauty, Perfection, Jamal and Jalal from Allah subHanaHu wa ta'ala. Almighty, the One is He, Always and Forever is He. Ya Allah Ya RasulAllah :sas:
Assalamu alaikum brother Aqdas, i remember reading on one of the articles on sunnipath that there is ijma of the scholars that RasoolAllah's (sallahu alayhe wasalam) grave is better than the kaaba, and that it also that the jumhur opinion is that it is better than the arsh as well.
The Imam of the Ahlus Sunnah, Sayyid Ahmad Sa'id Kazmi rahimahullah once had a conversation with a Wahabi. The Wahabi asked, do you consider the grave of Rasoolallah sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam to be better than the Ka'ba? Imam Kazmi replied, I consider it to be better than even the 'Arsh of Allah. The Wahabi asked for proof. Imam Kazmi said that from the Qur'an we know that if you thank Allah, he gives you more. 'Isa 'alaihis salam was thankful, so Allah took him to the 4th sky. Now, he has been there for 2000 years and has been more thankful day after day. So, if the 'Arsh of Allah was holier, Allah would raise his rank and take him to the 'Arsh but we know that his rank will be raised because Allah will send him down to Earth and to be buried in the place holier than the 'Arsh which is the grave of Rasoolallah arwahuna fidahu sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam. 'Allama Ghulam Rasul Sa'idi quoted this incident in his brief biography of Imam Kazmi in his book 'Maqalat-e-Sa'idi'.
