Ajmeri press has something like this https://ajmeripress.wordpress.com/2...hlus-sunnah-wal-jamaah-and-deobandi-movement/
Pages 67 to 68* of The Killer Mistake - listing of issues Deos conflict with Sunnis - should be made into a standalone pdf/jpg/webpage. Then when people make comments like the syrian brother did, we simply share it and tell them to contemplate if these are minor issues. Throw in another pdf/jpg/webpage showing current, well-known Deos supporting these deviances and tell the syrian brother/people to go follow-up with the Deos.
A little experiment for that Syrian Brother to make: Ask Any Sunni from Any Corner of the world this Question; If another Prophet was to come after Rasūlallah ﷺ, would it affect his Finality, Yes or No? He will Obviously, Instantly Reply with an absolutely Resolute Yes! Afterwards, ask a deobandi this same Question. Out of all the Muslims of the world, ONLY deobandis will have a problem affirming this. What Greater proof than this do you need that deobandis hold Innovated Beliefs and Deviate from Normative Sunni Aqāid This same test can be repeated over & over again: Is the one who considers Istighāthah Shirk a Heretic, Yes or No? Is It possible for Allah to Lie,Yes or No? Compare the answers of an Average sunni with deos & decide for yourself whether they truly are Traditional Sunnis or not
the syrian brother should not act as if he knows everything and should not foolishly try to oversimplify 200-year history and come up with false analogies. instead of acting knowledgeable when you are ignorant, try reading the tafsir of verse 188 of surah aal imran. --- would you accept if a similar argument was made about alawis and sunnis in syria? or the sunnis and the daesh? one should be humble to understand their limits.
Then he should be asked: if someone today defends blasphemies towards RasulAllah ﷺ that were penned 200 years ago, should Muslims refute them? He's Syrian so he'll know ibn Taymiyyah. Hasn't he been refuted for his heresies?
With due respect to this well-meaning syrian brother, he shouldn't wade into dispute that is "well established". To him, I would say "don't be condescending if you don't have a grasp of the history and matter". In another post, we discussed the naivety of Shaykh Abdal Qadir al-Husayn fil Mizan in terming the Barelvi-Deobandi feud a consequence of British divide-and-rule policy! https://sunniport.com/index.php?threads/arab-sunni-scholars.14083/#post-82542 Why bother commenting or playing mediator when you don't have the necessary background information? Ask these individuals to name any kufriyat allegedly written by Barelvis. Most serious allegation they will level is that Barelvis are extreme and takfiri. They can't name a single specific statement/act done by Barelvis that's against the creed of ahl us-Sunnah. I'm discounting vague allegations of "esoteric prophetology" (whatever that means) that Nuh Keller accused AlaHazrat of. These sunni syrians/Arabs will readily admit that deobandi akabireen statements are problematic (as Shaykh Abdal Qadir does too in his video), but still label the divide as trivial! Barelvis rightly focus on the prominent deobandi elders of the last century (who their followers consider as infallible); otherwise every prominent deobandi speaker is guilty of the same and more kufriyat. Likes of Tahir Gayavi, Tariq Masood, Limbada, and endless list of other tut-punjiyas have committed more kufriyat, and they are rarely highlighted. Their catalogue of blasphemy is long, and never-ending. We don't need any certificate from neutrals/others. If these "others" agree with Barelvi viewpoint, great for their own salvation. If not, then keep out of this dispute. --- To quote Allama Hamid Kazmi: "the difference between the deobandi and barelwi school is that the barelwis usually face the blame for the transgressions of their masses, while it is the akabirs/ulemas that have earned notoriety for deobandis. So whose transgression is more grave?" https://sunniport.com/index.php?threads/qawwali-at-pir-noor-ul-arifin-event.15366/#post-77594
the syrian brother is similar to those clueless europeans who equate israelis and palestinians and say: 'why can't they live in peace?' or without knowing the history of israeli atrocities, innocently ask: "why did palestinians attack israelis unprovoked'? ---- the problem with the question is - both suyuti and sakhawi were sunni scholars; their differences were mostly on furuu', neither of them committed blasphemy or wrote blasphemous passages, and neither considered the other as kafir. contrast this with the sunni-devbandi refutations. would you say the same thing about sunnis and wahabis among arabs? "bad blood between contemporaries was ignored and discarded, not turned into a cross-continental war 200 of the fact" ---- devbandis are wahabis, but worse. they are munafiqin - who have a face and aqidah for all seasons.
