jazak Allahu khayra brother the reason i asked that was coz i really thought that that idiotic punjabi/pothwari language press conference was actually utterly useless for the community at large, specially to the youth. this is my personal and anecdotal observation from north america - regardless of various different reasons or causes: under 40's - damn care for native language (primarily urdu/punjabi; we're speaking desi context) 40-50 - yes & no 50+ - yes, these are the only guys who are actually affected by native language talks, durus, naat's, community politics and so on (this press conference was one such spectacle) for the under 40's - they don't take much away from native language khutbahs, talks, naats, peer politics and so on. in fact the under 30's are not even much affected by desi entertainment, movies etc. back home. yes they will listen to songs playing in cafes and all without paying close attention, but it's still a 'damn care' attitude. this applies to both Sunnis as well as devbandis. yes the exceptions are always there - 12 yr old born n bred's reciting Ala Hazrat's or others naats in archaic urdu, Allah knows if they and the audience know the import of all the words, even if only literally. even graduates of DI's Maktabatul Madinah will speak "good enough" urdu/punjabi etc., but they too are geared towards being english language orators who speak it primarily as a native language. in fact it is quite heart warming to see that DI has invested so much in human capital for future english speaking local born n bred muballigheen and ulama so yeah - i was going to suggest that the press conference linked in post # 34 was just noise and would hardly make a difference to Asrar Rashid's actual audience and student base, which is the youth - as he is more in touch with them (based on my own personal observational qiyas with north america) the wahabis have a penchant for recruiting people into their manhaj from the 15-30 age group, for the reason that it ensures long term propagation of their filth. as long as Asrar Rashid & all Sunni ulama focus mainly on the 0-30 demographic in transmitting Sunniyat, they can ignore these kind of native language shenanigans by tourists like chuff chuff and community politics by 50+ unkils and peers (am a bit late to say it though ) --- i too thought i'd take an opinion from AI. it's on the other thread - https://sunniport.com/index.php?threads/experimenting-with-chatgpt.15494/
My point is this: Shaykh Asrar has argued that the wider community should be boycotting fake pirs - a position I actually think is excellent and fully support. However, the issue is consistency. Shaykh Asrar himself has clearly not been boycotting Fiaz ul Hassan. He has spoken at events hosted by Sultan Bahu Trust on multiple occasions.. even after 2010!
shaykh asrar refuted pir fiaz in 2010 actually to his face for having a sikh trustee for a masjid. This was at a public event. He couldnt say names on Takbir due to ofcom rules. Last night he mentioned him at the event.
I applaud Shaykh Asrar for his efforts in exposing this buffoonery. It’s about time someone took a stance against these charlatans. That said, consistency matters. If he is serious about calling out fake pirs, then this standard should be applied evenly. There is a clip circulating this morning in which Shaykh Asrar states that Fiaz ul Hassan is not a pir. That is a significant, especially given that Shaykh Asrar appeared on Takbeer TV (an TV channel very much closely affiliated with Fiaz ul Hassan) only a few days ago. It raises the question of why this claim was not made there. I also find it surprising that Shaykh Asrar did not raise this issue at the numerous events he has spoken at (throughout the years) under the banner of the Sultan Bahu Trust, which is likewise headed by Fiaz ul Hassan. Maybe its a new stance or a renewed one. Nevertheless, raising awareness on these matters is a good thing. https://youtube.com/shorts/t25cR8cMXsk?si=PnEOJyKSZLN8d37O
A man from Gujjar Khan, Pakistan, claimed that Haq Badshah—who in 2011 claimed to be the “Qalandar-e-Doran”—brought back his missing son through a dream; this was a decade before he became famous on social media. Shaykh Hüseyin Çevik, from the students of Shaykh Mahmud Efendi refuting Haq Badshah in Turkey
his arguments are stupid. he is burning strawmen. using generic arguments to justify a specific issue. khud nabeel jahil hai - his comments are irrelevant. he is a tafdili, and doesn't have the moral courage to distance himself from irfan shah, who sold his faith to the tafzilis, whose friends nasir golrawi and E17 paq are dead now. he still has time to make amends and return to his father's faith, but tawfiq is only with Allah ta'ala. as for na-haq khateeb - he is a fasiq. and it is wajib to humiliate a fasiq. finding excuses for his extortion racket is clearly an indication of compromise. --- blowing in a mic is stupid. a parallel can be found only in hindu swamis, the charlatans on the other side of the border. --- yes, there are cases of certain awliya who were ummi - but they did not make a business out of the "fayz" nor endanger people's lives by stopping medicine. we need to rid our society from such frauds. --- nabeel needs to complete his education and read the chapter on Hijr (interdiction) - in an islamic rule, this chuff chuff peer would be restrained by law and severely reprimanded and restrained from his theatrics. one of the objectives of the shariah is to rule in favour of the greater good. --- did sh. asrar do the right thing by barging in his event? i think it was necessary to raise awareness, though it did not seem wise or advisable. but as he explained himself, one needs to break eggs to make an omelette. Allah ta'ala knows best.
I listened to this. His points are valid within themselves but don't really match up with ground realities. Also, he hasn't contacted chuff chuff to find out what he's doing because non-sunnis have been using this against us. All he has done in the last few years is paint Sunnis (even on here) as Nasabis, and today he talks about Husn-e-dhaan. He justified Irfan Shah's language on public stages. Again the points he raises have validity in theory but for me he doesn't really provide any solutions.
since the dataset is 5 years old, i asked how many are above 35 - as they would be now 40. this is claude. gemini also thinks the same.
am not from the uk, but the internet is a wonderful thing: https://www.ons.gov.uk/visualisations/censusareachanges/E08000025 https://www.varbes.com/demographics/birmingham-demographics take the 29.9% of any group for a fair estimate. unless there is a specific study/report that shows how many muslims are 40+ from this PDF: https://www.birmingham.gov.uk/download/downloads/id/27768/muslim_2021_census_update_infographic.pdf
Different question for UK bros ... plz give a rough, hand waving estimate - what percentage of Birmingham or indeed UK's desi Muslim population is in the 40+ age bracket, and what percentage is in the 15-40 bracket? And what percentage in each of the 2 age groups is fluent in their native languages mainly Urdu, Punjabi but also Dari, Pashto, Bengali, Tamil, Gujrati etc? Furthermore, what percentage of people in each age group are such peer loyalists and participate in these kind peer-shop events?
Muzammil Shah Jamati and Haq Khatteb's followers held a press conference to counter Shaykh Asrar Rashid's earlier press conference about the incident at Bingley Hall in Birmingham, UK. They also responded to the Ulama who had spoken out against Haq Khatteb during the Tajdar-e-Khatam-e-Nabuwwat Conference in Dewsbury, UK. https://www.tiktok.com/@engrrajaabdullah/video/7592023060643908866 https://www.tiktok.com/@engrrajaabdullah/video/7592063351895706902 https://www.tiktok.com/@engrrajaabdullah/video/7592111559652969750
love the induced wajd by the notekhwans - aise nahin, dono hath utha ke mobile ki light on kar ke bolo… looks like people in the 1700s were mahroom of such wajd! lol
You can agree or disagree with Shaykh Asrar's method, but Sunnis of the UK won't stand and watch if jahils speak ill of the shaykh. Chuff is a public figure. When you're public, people have a right to question you. Shaykh Asrar peacefully went to a public event.
Syed saab just mentions Asrar Rashid's actions against atheists and rawafid. What needs to be amplified hugely is the Shaykhs services against the war on Islam by imperialists and Islamophobes. Not complaining, saying as a well wisher.
i just heard from 2:08:4x to 2:15:xx let me get this straight - this guy has gone to pakistan. apparently he says mein kal hi england se wapas aaya hun! and in pakistan he is somehow challenging the current dajjal mirza masroor of the qadianis (i think he's based in germany or uk). did he scream against this dajjal while in the UK? he's also speaking in cryptic language about gulahri's and geedarh's and servants of (i'm guessing) qadianis and saying he doesn't debate little guys! is that a reference to Asrar Rashid? if so, that is utterly preposterous and severe zulm due to implicit takfeer of the Shaykh. Asrar Rashid has hammered the qadianis in the english language multiple times, i daresay more than this clown has ever attempted. where are the videos of this guy blasting the qadianis in english or urdu or punjabi or anything? nonetheless, if he is serious and honest in blasting the qadianis, let's see what he's got and let's give him the benefit of doubt on that front. if he does blast them properly, he will deserve commendations on that aspect.
